CoC Networking Forum -November 2024

These meetings provide an opportunity to connect with and support providers to create a networking and collaboration to ensure support is provided to those in need across all the CoCs in Iowa (Homeward, Iowa Balance of State, Threshold, and Siouxland Coalition to End Homelessness).

These meetings will NOT be recorded and we encourage people to attend the virtual meeting to learn about the topics and ask questions.

Presenters include:

  • Emily Camargo, Safe Housing Advocate from Friends of the Family

This CoC Networking Forum will be focused the intersection of disability, survivors, and homelessness. This training will focus on the increased vulnerability of individuals with disabilities to domestic and sexual violence, as well as the complex intersection of surviving that violence and homelessness. We will examine the services—or lack thereof—available to survivors with disabilities and explore best practices for supporting them within our state's emergency shelters and CoC housing programs. Join us to gain some insights on addressing the unique challenges faced by this often-overlooked population and improving service accessibility for all survivors.
