This CoC Networking Forum will be focused the intersection of disability, survivors, and homelessness. This training will focus on the increased vulnerability of individuals with disabilities to domestic and sexual violence, as well as the complex intersection of surviving that violence and homelessness. We will examine the services—or lack thereof—available to survivors with disabilities and explore best practices for supporting them within our state's emergency shelters and CoC housing programs. Join us to gain some insights on addressing the unique challenges faced by this often-overlooked population and improving service accessibility for all survivors.

Join the Institute for Community Alliances in welcoming Kelsey Culver with Waypoint Services to talk about Coordinated Entry Diversion.  This training will go over the basics of diversion specific to the Coordinated Entry System, and how to best assist clients is gaining stability outside of the system.

All are welcome to attend, so please forward this information to your peers and other partners in your work.

This training is a required topic for all staff completing Coordinated Entry Intakes and Assessments either on paper or in the database.  If you have completed diversion training already this calendar year, you are not required to attend.   

Upon completion of the training, a certificate will be emailed to all those in attendance.

The TIC session aims to create a safe environment for survivors and to help people rebuild a sense of control and empowerment.

In an effort to revise the BoS CoC Strategic Plan, CoC team members will be meeting with stakeholders and community members across the state to hear your thoughts and help identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement allowing us to make informed decisions to create a Strategic Plan that will lead us towards success!

What is The Strategic Plan?
The Strategic Plan is the Iowa BOS CoC’s action-oriented endeavor to build and foster an effective homeless response system.

• The meeting will be held as long as there are 3 registered participants for the meeting.

• People with lived experience will be compensated.

• Anyone interested in attending can participate in evaluating our current position on ending homelessness.

• To create an effective homeless response system we need input from local and regional agencies, persons with lived experience, community members to assist us in revising our Strategic Plan.
